Challenge:
An offshore platform is required an overall reassessment by our client. The structural integrity of the existing platform is evaluated under the current equipment weight, the environmental loads, and seismic loads. Other evaluations such as pushover analysis and fatigue analysis are also performed.
Resolution:
A computer model created in SACS was used to evaluate the platform under various load cases. Using the SACS model, multiple analyses were performed, such as seismic analysis, collapse analysis, and fatigue analysis. Our team determined that strengthening of certain members was required, so recommended modifications were drawn and submitted to the client.
